Dr. Oscar Rios is a board-certified general surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons — one of medicine's most respected distinctions, recognizing exceptional training, ethical standards, and uncompromising commitment to patient safety.
Trained in both traditional and minimally invasive robotic techniques, Dr. Rios brings to the Texas Hill Country the same caliber of care found at major academic medical centers. As a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon, he performs complex general-surgery procedures through tiny incisions, with magnified 3D-HD vision and wristed instruments that move with a precision the human hand alone cannot match.
He believes in treating patients like neighbors — because in the Hill Country, they often are. Every consultation starts with listening. Philosophy of Care
Dr. Rios approaches surgery with three core convictions. First, that the right operation, performed at the right time, by the right surgeon, is one of the most powerful gifts modern medicine can offer. Second, that minimally invasive techniques — when appropriate — produce dramatically better outcomes: less pain, fewer complications, faster recoveries, smaller scars. A note about board certification. Not every surgeon practicing in the United States is board certified by the American Board of Surgery — and the difference matters. Board certification means a surgeon has completed an accredited residency, passed rigorous written and oral examinations, and committed to ongoing professional education and ethical standards for life.
